The Conwy Valley’s cycling routes range from Llyn Brenig’s family-friendly loops, to the more challenging Conwy Valley Road Route between Conwy and Betws-y-Coed, and mountain biking at Penmachno and the Gwydir Forest. You can head to the coast and follow the cycle path alongside the Conwy Estuary and the Irish Sea, or head southwest to venture further into Eryri National Park. Conwy County is one of the best regions in Wales to explore on foot and offers walking routes for every fitness level, from easy heritage trails and forest loops, to long-distance coastal paths and mountain adventures.
The Conwy stretch of the Wales Coast Path is just 15 minutes from Caer Rhun Hall heading north, or deeper into Eryri National Park you can discover our famous mountain range, with family adventures in Cwm Idwal, properly challenging Tryfan, and our most famous peak, Yr Wyddfa with 6 different routes to the top. Alternatively, take it easy and go by train.

There are lots of exciting outdoor adventures just a short drive from Caer Rhun Hall. Zip World Fforest is home to treetop nets, high ropes, a forest rollercoaster and one of the world’s highest parachute-style drops. Venture underground for an unforgettable day out at Go Below, with guided tours of disused slate mines, abseiling, scrambling, underground waterfalls, boating and zip lines deep underground, plus super-challenging ‘Xtreme’ routes for the most serious adventurers. Venture a bit further away to Bala and you can try your hand at whitewater rafting.
